Imagine the opportunity for your students to try on Cosette's dress from LES MISERABLES, listen and watch as a PHANTOM OF THE OPERA Company Stage Manager explains how the 1-tonne chandelier falls at every performance or learn the rehearsal techniques that master directors are using to prepare their actors.
Encore for Education, working in close co-operation with major West End producers, the GSA Conservatoire and the Theatre Museum, is proud to offer a new approach to education.
In addition to our friendly and efficient service and the book-now, pay-later facility that you have come to expect, we are now offering a unique and complete education experience to enhance your student group's visit to London theatre.
Not only do we now offer interactive workshops, backstage tours, Q&As and great ticket prices but we also complete your visit with affordable rates for meals, London attractions and overnight accommodation. Plus, for the teachers and chaperones, many shows offer free tickets. We have worked with many of our shows to produce stimulating education brochures and packs, which are not only a valuable and enjoyable learning experience but also a great souvenir.
Teacher-Friendly Packages And PreparationFor teachers, we are aware that preparing risk assessments can be time-consuming and laborious and so we have prepared risk-assessments for many of our shows which can be sent to you, whether as hard copy or on-line for you to complete.
At Encore we believe that, in association with you, we can encourage young people to develop an appreciation of some of the greatest live theatre the world has to offer. This will enable them to be entertained, excited and enthralled and, just possibly, help them to view the world from another point of view.
We look forward to seeing you on a London stage soon!
"I am writing to thank you for your part in organising the wonderful afternoon at Les Miserables last Wednesday. As a family we often visit the theatre, but this afternoon was particularly special.
We were thrilled with the backstage tour that we were given after the show. The honest insight given by your two performers was also interesting and informative.
Joe (my son) at eleven is already a "veteran" of the stage, having played Jeremy in Chitty for a year at the Palladium. And I'm delighted to say he was completely "wowed" by Les Miserables. It is a wonderful introduction to theatre for children to see other children in a show.
So, all in all, a great time was had by all! I do hope you will be successful in your future educational efforts - it is so important to foster, and then keep alive, the spirit of theatre in our young people...".
With very best wishes,

Hi Amy,
I really enjoyed the show (Blue Man Group), thought it was very entertaining. It also meets the religious requirements of our school's ethos (which is a relief). There are some thought provoking 'monologues' and media, and great opportunities for audience participation.
I certainly left the theatre with a smile.
Many thanks once again for organising this.
