On 6th April 2019, Mamma Mia will celebrate its 20th anniversary in the West End. The production opened in 1999 at the Prince Edward Theatre, and has since been staged in three theatres, moving to the Prince of Wales Theatre in 2004 and now at the Novello Theatre, where it has been since 2012. The feel-good musical tells the story of Sophie Sheridan, a young woman about to marry her fiancé Sky, wishing for her father to walk her down the aisle. Inviting her three potential dads to the wedding without her mother knowing, Mamma Mia is full of energy two decades on, leaving audience members dancing out of the aisles with a beaming smile.

Mamma Mia is the longest-running jukebox musical in the West End, featuring 24 tracks by Swedish pop legends ABBA. The soundtrack was released in 1999, subsequently receiving a nomination for best musical theatre album at the 2000 Grammy Awards, as well as charting in the United States and across Europe.
