Shows that are great for a romantic night out in the West End
Ever been in love with someone when you know you shouldn’t have? In a love story that’s mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie, Waitress makes its West End premiere at the Adelphi Theatre in February 2019. It’s not all lovey-dovey at the beginning, as Jenna Hutchinson is stuck in a problematic relationship with her husband. When she falls pregnant and he’s the father, she initially doesn’t want the child. Jenna later sees there’s a pie contest with a large cash prize and this spurs her on to enter, taking the winnings to leave Earl and start a new life with her child. Waitress is a tear-jerker bringing the real feelings of a relationship to the West End that’s guaranteed to bring any couple closer together.
The Great Gatsby
Enjoy a night out on the town and step back in time to the 1920s at The Great Gatsby. Enter Jay Gatsby’s world as the F Scott Fitzgerald novel is brought to life in an immersive theatrical experience where you can get up close with the action. With smooth jazz, swing dancing and donning your flapper dresses and tuxes encouraged, the different audiences at The Great Gatsby means no two performances are the same and is guaranteed to be a night out like no other.
9 to 5
When three female colleagues at Consolidated Industries scheme to take down their boss, their plans grow larger and larger. Dreaming of killing their “sexist, egotistical boss”, the ladies learn that the only way to take down the man is to work together annd unite to create a powerful force. Starring Bonnie Langford and Louise Redknapp, 9 to 5 is set to be an exciting production featuring the Dolly Parton classic “9 to 5” as well as upbeat dances and plenty of country and western energy!
Tina The Tina Turner Musical
Instead of rolling down the river, roll down to the West End to see the life of Tina Turner on the West End stage at Tina The Musical. A biographical musical of her career, see how Anna Mae Bullock overcame her age, gender and race to become Tina Turner, a chart superstar who has sold over 200 million records. With a soundtrack including “River Deep Mountain High” and “What’s Love Got to Do With It”, you’ll be singing along to all the classic hits.
Luzia – Cirque du Soleil
Marking Cirque du Soleil’s 30th anniversary since their first UK performance, Luzia is set to dazzle and wow audiences. Filled with breathtaking, death-defying acrobatics and contortionists, the magic of the big top can only get bigger at the Royal Albert Hall in 2020. Places, faces and sounds of Mexico will enchant audiences of all ages, as the Hall becomes charged with the essence of Latin America.
