Written by Alan Bennett, the play follows British politicians and the royal family, as they try to conceal George III’s unravelling mind and behaviours; will George undermine the crown forevermore? Staged at Nottingham Playhouse in 2018, it’s the first non-London play to be shown as part of the initiative.
What we’re watching on television
David Tennant and Michael Sheen reunite to star in Staged, a brand new six-part series coming to BBC One from 10th June. Not much is known about the whole series, but the first episode will follow a director who convinces his actors to continue rehearsals online.
