With this production of Fiddler on the Roof performed in Yiddish, there’s an added sense of authenticity and reality to the small community of Anatevka at the turn of the twentieth century. When Tevye, a Jewish patriarch and father to five daughters attempts to preserve the pious way of life, his traditions and culture are threatened by the onslaught of outside influences.
