Delivering a unique comedy flair to the New York theatre scene, The Play That Goes Wrong is a masterclass in comic timing. First performed in London, audiences in America can now experience Mischief Theatre’s performance style in a show where being over-the-top is good and as the title suggests, everything that possibly could go wrong does! So, if you enjoy seeing a comedic play and want to experience the best of British humour, you’ll want to see The Play That Goes Wrong.
The cast stars Ryan Vincent Anderson (as Trevor), Brent Bateman (as Robert), Bartley Booz (as Dennis), Matt Harrington (as Chris), Angela Grovey (as Annie), Max FitzRoy-Stone (as Jonathan), Maggie Weston (as Sandra), and Alex Mandell (as Max).
Before the curtain has raised, there’s already drama, as the audience meet the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society staging their annual production. This year, it’s ‘Murder at Haversham Manor’, but as the title suggests, it’s not easy for the company to stage a production. As props disappear, a corpse struggles to play dead and actors who trip over everything, will the thespians be able to make it to the final curtain?
Recommended for children aged 8 and over. Children under 4 are not permitted in the theatre. The running time is 2 hours and 5 minutes, with a 20 minute interval.
