About Dr. Seuss's The Lorax

See the unparalleled Olivier Award-nominated Dr. Seuss’ story brought to life in this charmingly funny and thoughtful production returning to the Old Vic.

After several incarnations of the Dr. Seuss classic since the release of the novel in 1971, The Lorax finally makes its way onto the stage. The Lorax combines ingenious puppetry with the hilarious and vibrant world of Dr Seuss as we follow the titular Lorax on his quest to save the earth from the Once-ler in this well timed comedy guaranteed to captivate children and adults alike.

With music and lyrics from former Noah and the Whale frontman Charlie Fink, The Lorax is sure to be a sensory delight to audiences of all ages.

What's the story?

The Lorax tells of a moustachioed, crabby critter who "speaks for the trees" and tries to prevent the greedy, tree-chopping, Theed-knitting Once-ler from destroying the earth for his own ends.

The celebrated story returns to the West End in timely fashion- with environmental issues and corporate greed remaining a contentious issue to this day.
