About 9 to 5 the Musical

Nominated for 13 Drama Desk Awards and Tony Awards for best musical and best original score, 9 to 5 makes it way to the Savoy Theatre in 2019. Based on the hit 1980 film starring Dolly Parton, 9 to 5 is set to be the new rootin' tootin' sensation on the West End. With original music and lyrics by the country-singing sensation, the musical smashes dark and revengeful schemes with rodeo-inspired dreams into a musical full of girl power by taking on the man.

WHO'S IN IT?:THE CAST

His West End career spans over 25 years, with credits including Fagin in Oliver!, Caracatus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the title role in Barnum.

What's the story?

9 to 5 centres around the developing friendship of Violet, Doralee and Judy, three working women bored with their mundane roles at Consolidated Industries. Sick of the treatment they receive under President Franklin Hart Jr, they dream of plotting ways to kill their boss and creating fantasies over how to punish the “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot”.

With Hart's suspicious absence, the workplace atmosphere becomes brighter and stronger, even if the women have to deal with nosy co-workers. When the president returns, a dilemma ensues. Who will become in charge of the company? Whose love will last? Who will have the confidence to succeed?
