Foxfinder is an unsettling, darkly comic tale that explores the fallibility of belief. “Rich, rare and deeply unsettling” (Time Out), Dawn King’s dystopian fable won the Papatango New Writing Competition in 2011 and makes its West End debut this year at the Ambassadors Theatre from 6th September.
The fox is the reason that the human race are dying out. Set in a world that is both recognisable and strange, the story focuses on a farming family who struggle to feed themselves as more and more crops fail to grow. Unexpectedly, William, a Foxfinder, arrives to rid them of the plague. As the hunt progresses, he finds more questions than answers…

Iwan Rheon stars as William Boor. Rheon is best known for portraying Ramsay Bolton in ‘Game of Thrones’ and Simon Bellamy in ‘Misfits’. He was awarded the 2010 Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his performance as Moritz in Spring Awakening at the Novello Theatre.
Heida Reed who is best known for portraying Elizabeth Warleggan in the BBC hit series’ Poldark’ will be starring alongside him. Reed's previous stage work includes Scarlet at the Southwark Playhouse and the 2011 revival of Top Girls at Trafalgar Studios.
Paul Nicholls ('Law & Order', 'The C Word, EastEnders') and Bryony Hannah ('Call the Midwife') also star.
Farming husband and wife Samuel and Judith Covey have been visited by William Bloor, a Foxfinder, who has arrived to investigate a suspected contamination. Foxfinders are trained from a young age in rooting out ‘the Beast’ that threatens man’s civilisation. In their search for this deadly enemy that unsettles the mind and kills children, we see the community descend into chaos, with betrayal, delusional and guilt at play, the course of the evening changes their lives forever.
