Lenny Henry stars as Elmore in King Hedley II. One of Britain’s most-loved comedians, Henry has performed in television shows and on stage for over 40 years. His theatre credits include The Comedy of Errors at the National Theatre, Fences at the Duchess Theatre and The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui at the Donmar Warehouse.
Performing alongside Lenny Henry are Aaron Pierre as King Hedley, Dexter Flanders, Martina Laird, Cherrelle Skeete and Leo Wringer.
Set in 1980s Pittsburgh during the Reagan presidency, King Hedley tries to rebuild his life and start a family of his own. After coming out of prison, he dreams of opening a video store, but trying to catch a break is proving a struggle. Planning a new life with the help of his friend Mister, will the King be able to achieve or is he stuck in a pipe dream?
