Noises Off continues to make audiences chuckle at the Garrick Theatre, after critically-acclaimed performances at the Lyric Hammersmith earlier this year. First performed in 1982, join a company of actors at different points of a show’s run, as this play-within-a-play peeks behind the curtain to what it’s like to be on stage. From technical rehearsals, matinee performances and the final night, Noises Off delivers a masterclass in British comedy writing.
Lloyd Owen, Daniel Rigby, Simon Rouse and Meera Syal will reprise their performances at the Garrick, transferring from the Lyric Hammersmith.
The cast is completed by Sarah Hadland, Richard Henders, Lisa McGrillis, Anjli Mohindra and Adrian Richards.
First performed in 1982, the play is inspired by stage directions written in a script, indicating sounds and set that need to be captured from offstage. With technical brilliance and split-second timing, follow a company of actors in an unpredictable tale of life in the theatre, where anything can happen but the show must go on.
