Following a sold out run in the Dorfman Theatre, the acclaimed National Theatre production of The Ocean at the End of the Lane transfers to the West End’s Duke of York’s Theatre from October 2020. Joel Horwood adapts Neil Gaiman’s bestselling adventure and science-fiction novel for the stage, in an imaginative spectacle where storytelling comes alive.
Casting for the West End transfer of The Ocean at the End of the Lane is to be announced.
The original cast starred Samuel Blenkin, Jade Croot, Fred Davis, Owain Grynn, Pippa Nixon, Carlyss Peer, Justin Salinger, Jeffrey Sangalang, Marli Siu, Josie Walker and Jess Williams.
Josie Walker received an Olivier Award nomination for best actress in a supporting role for her performance as Mrs Hempstock.
A man stands beside the pond of a Sussex farmhouse where he used to play. He’s all grown up now, but as he returns to his childhood home, he’s suddenly transported back in time to his 12th birthday. With a Boy and his friend Lettie thrown deeper and deeper into a magical world, will they be able to survive their new surroundings? That depends on their ability to withstand the ancient forces and creepy characters at work.
