War Horse returns to the London stage, with Nick Stafford’s stage adaptation of the Michael Morpurgo text being the inaugural production at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. First staged in 2007 at the National Theatre, the production played at the Gillian Lynne Theatre for seven years and has toured around the world. Set in the outbreak of World War One, Albert’s horse Joey is sold to the cavalry and shipped to France to assist the British Army. Distraught, Albert travels to the front line to retrieve his horse and travel back to England with Joey in tow. Caught in enemy fire, Albert embarks on a dangerous mission in order to bring him home safe from the war.
