The eagerly anticipated 2013 Tony Award-winning musical which opens at the Adelphi Theatre later this summer has announced its full cast ahead of rehearsals for the show beginning in London.

The musical comedy, which is inspired by a true story and based on the Miramax film written by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth, features a book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein and music and lyrics by Tony and two-time Grammy Award winner Cyndi Lauper. The show opened on 4 April 2013 to rave reviews at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre, and was nominated for a total of 13 Tony Awards, of which it won six: Best Musical, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical (Billy Porter), Best Original Score (Cyndi Lauper), Best Choreography (Jerry Mitchell), Best Orchestrations (Stephen Oremus); and Best Sound Design (John Shivers).

The cast for the London production will be led by Killian Donnelly as Charlie and Matt Henry as Lola, with supporting cast including Amy Lennox as Lauren, Jamie Baughan as Don, Amy Ross as Nicola and Michael Hobbs as George.

Killian Donnelly is no stranger to big Broadway musicals as he is currently starring in the original London cast of 'Memphis the Musical' at the Shaftesbury Theatre. Creating the role of Huey Calhoun, Killian received glowing reviews and was nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. His previous West End credits have included the original cast of 'The Commitments' at the Palace Theatre, where he created the role of 'Deco' in Jamie Lloyd's production. He has previously starred in long-running hits 'Les Miserables' and 'Phantom of the Opera' as well as a number of productions in his native home of Ireland.

Killian will play the role of Charlie Price, the hapless character who has reluctantly inherited his father's Northampton shoe factory. Trying to live up to his father's legacy and save the family business from bankruptcy, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. Lola turns out to be the one person who can help Charlie become the man he's meant to be and together they work to turn the factory around whilst discovering that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible.

Playing the role of Lola will be singer Matt Henry who brings both a recording and theatrical background to the role. Matt shot into the public eye after appearing on the second series of BBC's 'The Voice' and went on to record an album in 2014. His theatre credits include  'Avenue Q' (National Tour), 'The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe'(Northampton), 'The Harder They Come' (Theatre Royal Stratford East) and 'The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas', making him the perfect candidate to bring this exciting role to life in London.

Kinky Boots is directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, who was recently behind the West End production of 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' at the Savoy Theatre.
