Opening in 1995 with an ice skating show starring Torvill and Dean, the Manchester Arena has repeatedly broken its own records. Once declared as "the best venue in the country" by U2 frontman Bono, it has gone on to host big names. Kylie Minogue has sold out the arena no less than 27 times, and Westlife have achieved the same feat 29 times.
It has also been a prime venue for comedians, where Lee Evans and Peter Kay have broken personal records for performing to their largest audiences.
The Manchester Arena celebrated its 15th birthday in 2010 with a conert Birthday Bash.
