After performances at Bristol’s Old Vic, the Andes mountain range heads to London as Touching the Void comes to the Duke of York’s. Based on real-life events as told in Joe Simpson’s best-selling memoir, follow Joe in the Peruvian Andes as he scales mountains and tries to make it to base camp, facing uphill battles along the way. A story of hardship and human endurance, decisions made are the difference between life or death.
Josh Williams, Fiona Hampton and Patrick McNamee reprise their performances as Joe, Sarah and Richard respectively. Angus Yellowlees makes his professional stage debut as Simon.
As Joe Simpson and Simon Yates begin to climb the Siula Grande in the Huayhuash mountain range in the Andes, the pair immediately come into trouble. Having slipped down an ice cliff, Joe is left incapacitated, leaving Simon to pull him to safety. With both of their lives in danger amongst steep slopes and minimal supplies to keep them going, will the pair be able to make it to base camp and return to civilisation?
